Stressed Out During Home Leave

We weren't even 2 weeks into home leave before the stress began. The nice feeling of the sun and eating great food in the Pacific Northwest faded quickly as soon as we saw our future home, Egypt, start descending into chaos. We knew the June 30 protests would be big, we just didn't realize it would be coup big. Embassy Cairo went quickly from authorized departure to ordered departure. While I would love to think that the order will be lifted in time for our early August departure, I really doubt it. Part of me was hoping that Ramadan would put a sizzle on things but I just don't know anymore considering the latest events (and violence) in Egypt. Now we're trying to figure out the various scenarios: both me and hubby hanging out in DC for awhile and hubby looking for a job in DC that can be easily transferred to Cairo, me going to Cairo by myself and hubby staying and working in DC for the foreseeable future, both of us leaving for Cairo soon (the ideal scenario), etc. Stay tuned on what happens to us...
