And just like that we've hit that time - the time to leave this beautiful city called London. This tour was full of the unexpected - depressing moments when you realize how much the lack of sun affects you, amazing times when you discover a new fantastic play and/or a new restaurant full of delicious food. I wish I had had more energy to blog about all the places we've discovered in London but alas - maybe in the future on a laid back day in Egypt? Ha I don't know about that but I can hope.
Everyone tells you in the foreign service that packout sucks - and that you never get used to moving. It's so true, I have so much to do and it's so overwhelming. I should be packing right now but alas the procrastinator in me has overridden that decision. Instead we're watching Anthony Bourdain on this surprisingly sunny Sunday evening. While the weather is sunny with a little chill here, it's roughly 110 degrees in Cairo. The thought of that much heat in the next 2 years scares the hubby more than me - I gotta say I've missed the heat during this European tour.
I tell myself that I should relax and take in these last bits of London while I can because our short 6 week stint in the US is going to be....crazy. 10 states in 6 weeks, talk about a whirlwind American trip. In between weddings, wine tours and some training - I WILL find a way to eat my way through all the American venues that I have missed. Cuban food, margaritas, donuts - I will have it all :)
If I don't get a chance to blog again in London - chat soon from the US or more than likely Egypt!
