As London ramps up to one of the busiest summers it'll ever experience, I get busier in work. Of course because of Murphy's law, hubby is also very busy since he graduates from his MBA this August and is actively looking for a job. Add into the mix that the wedding put a bit of a financial damper on our lives and lo and behold you have one very stressful household. It is almost a year now that we've lived here and in that time, because of British drinking/eating habits + diplomatic events = I have gained at least 10 pounds. Not going to the gym regularly has only helped exacerbate the symptoms related to SAD (seasonal affected disorder). People don't believe me when I gripe about living here but it's real! Seeing sun here and there a few days every few months is detrimental to your mood! Thus I got my hind in high gear and have decided to work out and healthy again. As some of my friends know, I started the Insanity program a few days ago (I'm almost done with day 4!). I'm not selling a product because I don't like to be sucked in myself but this is simple science: eating healthy + hard core cardio and strength training = healthier and happier me and in turn work/personal life balance. I hope I can keep it up because I only get more stressed at work with multiple projects and more stressed at home hoping that hubby against all odds (i.e. horrible European economy) can find a job soon that he genuinely is passionate about.
