My first road trip entailed visiting 5 new states, I am ashamed to admit that I have probably seen more of other countries than of my own (insert sheepish face). 3 days, 8 states, end destination: our nation's capital. We started out in Minnesota, then on to Madison, Wisconsin, Chicago, Illinois, northern Indiana, Ohio, southern Pennsylvania, Maryland and finally DC.

Overall impression of my road trip through the swing states: lots of corn fields, flat land and Fox News. Definitely loved the scenery :)
Next place on the Midwest to-see list: Mount Rushmore, South Dakota
