Karl Malone and Scottie Pippen, along with the 1992 Dream Team, were inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame yesterday. While I was young and barely remember the Barcelona Olympics, this recap on how awesome the '92 Dream Team was makes me fall in love with basketball all over again. With the greats like Magic, Jordan, David Robinson, John Stockton, Barkley, Ewing and Bird, it's no wonder they won the Gold! Of course I have to insert here how basketball these days (cough::Lebron sucks and is a fake::cough) really pales in comparison to good ole early 90s bball.
Sports Illustrated did a great piece on the these hall-of-famers, and how they're still very much a team. It's a must-read, here's one of my fav excerpts (especially since I had a huge crush on Toni Kukoc when I was a kid):

On the game against Croatia when the Dream Team vowed to shut down Toni Kukoc, who had received a lucrative contract offer from the Bulls. And shut him down they did:
Barkley: "I remember Michael was, like, foaming at the mouth. 'Kukoc makes more money than Scottie and I put together! Wherever he goes, I got him!' And Michael and Scottie shut him down. It was hilarious."
Pippen: "I appreciate you guys talking like that, but it was truly a collective effort. If I got beat on the backdoor, David was right there. In truth? Toni did not have a chance in that game."In between Barkley's jokes and the others' humility, I really wonder when I'll see a basketball team like that again in my lifetime...
