Pretty much at the middle of week 4 of the 5-week training course for State Department FSOs and I gotta say, the stress is ebbing and flowing in huge waves. I talk so much about the upcoming Flag Day this Friday that at this point I almost feel eerily calm. Key word: almost. I am totally grateful for the handful of awesome people who have been listening to my crazy rants and talking me and my stress level down. Ultimately I make it a point to remind myself at least once a day of how thankful and lucky I am to have this amazing opportunity in the first place. That being said, if you thought being a diplomat was all glamor, all I can say is that you've never really met a diplomat.
