South Korea & Race: Interesting to see where the fear of disrupting "ethnic homogeneity" stems from. My experience traveling as a woman who is obviously foreign-looking has given me constant food for thought on America's diversity that we Americans take for granted.

U.S Democracy Promotion in Egypt: "More than $180 million in U.S. foreign aid to promote democracy in Egypt over the past four years has produced few measurable results, in part because the Egyptian government has stymied the effort, a newly released government audit says." Besides the usual debate about the inept nature of Egyptian government, my personal experience thus far only makes me agree that NGO grantees are equally inept.
